The brain said, ‘I’m the smartest organ in the body.’ The heart said, ‘Who told you?’ And because we fail to notice that we fail to notice, there is little we can do to change until we notice how failing to notice shapes our thoughts and deeds. The range of what we think and do is limited by what we fail to notice. To know and not to do, is really not to know. We are the creative force of our life, and through our own decisions rather than our conditions, if we carefully learn to do certain things, we can accomplish those goals. To touch the soul of another human being is to walk on holy ground. Wisdom is your perspective on life, your sense of balance…īe part of the solution and not the problem. The person who is truly effective has the humility and reverence to recognize his own perceptual limitations and to appreciate the rich resources available through interaction with the hearts and minds of other human beings. It does mean recognizing our responsibility to make things happen. Taking initiative does not mean being pushy, obnoxious, or aggressive. It also includes the capacity to overcome deeply embedded habits and to cultivate higher, more effective ones. It is the vital energy to make choices and decisions.
Power is the faculty or capacity to act, the strength and potency to accomplish something. Look at the weaknesses of others with compassion, not accusation.Īn abundance mentality springs from internal security, not from external rankings, comparisons, opinions, possessions, or associations.
Such an individual is yeast that can leaven an entire loaf. One person can be a change catalyst, a ‘transformer’ in any situation, any organization. And your own change can affect many, many lives downstream. You’re a transition person – a link between past and future. A tendency that’s run through your family for generations can stop with you.
